While this has created challenges for many families, it has opened opportunities for others as it has freed up their schedules to travel, AND the kids can still do their school work remotely while on vacation. The Myrtle Beach area is well known for its attractions, but did you know many of them have educational benefits It is possible to go on vacation AND allow the kids to learn on the same trip, especially since more and more parents are now allowed to work remotely.

RIVER ISLAND ADVENTURES
They offer a variety of activities and adventures, including inner tube float trips, kayak and river boat tours. Tap into some extra excitement with bits of historical education facts thrown in by trying the Escape River Island challenge. 

WONDERWORKS
An amusement park for the mind with 50,000 square feet of “edu-tainment”. The attraction combines education and entertainment with more than 100 hands on exhibits that challenge the mind and spark the imagination.

EDVENTURE
EdVenture’s goal is to introduce your children to the thrilling worlds of aviation and astronomy through a panoply of hands-on exhibits and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) experiments.

BROOKGREEN GARDENS HOMESCHOOL PROGRAM
A themed program that is designed to offer exciting, hands-on, standard-based lessons about nature, history, and art. Most programs will include tours of exhibits, live animal presentations, S.T.E.M. challenges, and make-and-take crafts.

ATALAYA CASTLE AT MYRTLE BEACH STATE PARK
The park features the Coastal Exploration Program. From March to November field trips allow visitors to join staff educators for alligator viewing, marsh and nature trail exploration and more, including a close-up look at the history and mystery of Atalaya Castle.

SHELLING, LIGHTHOUSE, HISTORIC CRUISES
